QUILT GALLERY
"Lone Sailor"
Made for a guild "family memories"
challenge. Silk screened head of the Lone Sailor from the US Navy Memorial in
Washington, DC, replaces the usual stars in a flag. My entire family worked on
bringing the Navy Memorial to Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC.
"Braden's Maui Memories"
Twelve year Braden was
asked to draw his memory of his Maui visit. He drew a skate boarder, which was
turned into a Hawaiian quilt design using folded paper. Took twelve years to
hand quilt . . . . not my favorite thing to do.
"Three Dog Night"
Yes, all three of these
Papillons have made our bed their nightime home. Photo transfer of art work by Z
Kripke. Embellished with beads.
"Randy's Resume Discs"
Who remembers floppy discs?
This was a commercial pattern. I wrote Randy's resume on the floppy disc labels.
"Buggin' Out"
A crazy quilt assembled using glue
sticks, a technique developed for the "Contemporary Quilting" book. All the
embroidery stitching was done by machine.
